What is EmpowerED?

Resilient Hearts is building a virtual platform, EmpowerED, which will provide real-world learning experiences for individuals with developmental or intellectual disabilities. This app will help individuals to build essential skills for independent living. This accessible and interactive app will also connect peers with similar experiences for meaningful connections

EmpowerED

Why Behind EmpowerED?

EmpowerED is envisioned to support individuals who cannot access in-person programs, similar to the Resilient Hearts Day Program, because services are not available in their area or they face transportation barriers.

Who is EmpowerED For?

EmpowerED is ideal for young adults (ages 16+) who:

  • want to build daily living skills and awareness

  • benefit from structured support and direction

  • enjoys distant learning

  • are excited to make friends and be part of a community

Help Us Shape EmpowerED

We are working hard to bring the vision of EmpowerED to life! Our team is seeking individuals who are interested in sharing their insights to ensure it reflects the real needs, goals, and dreams of young adults with developmental disabilities. If you are a participant, parent, or guardian, we would love to hear from you.

Insights can be provided through a survey or a discovery interview.

All feedback is confidential and will be used only to improve the EmpowerED program. There is no obligation to join the program later.

At Resilient Hearts, we humbly acknowledge that the land on which we operate is the traditional territory of the Niitsitapi (Blackfoot) and the people of the Treaty 7 region, which includes the Siksika, Piikani, Kainai, Tsuut'ina, and Stoney Nakoda First Nations, including Chiniki, Bearspaw, and Wesley First Nations. We honor and respect the longstanding connections of Indigenous peoples to this land and recognize the importance of reconciliation, understanding, and collaboration as we strive to create a welcoming space for all.
