About Us

Our Story

Resilient Hearts is a community service organization founded by Arshdeep Sandhu in October 2023 after witnessing the struggles faced by individuals with developmental disabilities during his time working in a disability service organization.

Arshdeep discovered that there are only limited programs available for accessing essential life skills like cooking, cleaning, managing finances, social skills, and transit training.

A significant gap in support services arises when individuals graduate from high school or turn 18, as their school-based support ends. This leaves many without the necessary resources to manage daily life.

Additionally, there is a common misconception that individuals with developmental disabilities cannot live independently, which undermines their confidence.

Resilient Hearts serves Calgary and Area to empower young adults with developmental disabilities by providing the skills, guidance and support needed for independent living.
