What is SafeForce?
SafeForce is a specialized 5-hour safety and self-defence training program designed by Resilient Hearts to support young adults with developmental disabilities in building real-world safety awareness and practical protection skills. This program combines abuse-prevention education with hands-on self-defence practice, delivered in a supportive, trauma-informed learning environment.
How Does It Work?
Part 1: Abuse Prevention Education

Participants develop essential safety knowledge, including:

Recognizing unsafe, uncomfortable, or confusing situations

Understanding personal rights and boundaries

Identifying safe vs. unsafe people

Using assertive communication

Asking for help and reporting concerns

Staying safe in community and online spaces

Part 2: Practical Self-Defence Training
Participants practice accessible, easy-to-learn techniques such as:

Protecting personal space

Breaking away safely from grabs or holds

Using strong voice and body language

Staying calm, aware, and grounded in stressful moments

Building strength, confidence, and body awareness
